Double Acting Telescopic Cylinders

Jonic has a unique design for Double Acting Telescopic cylinders which is covered by Patent GB2511743. The design enables the cylinder to be produced from single lengths of tube without additional metal glands or pistons reducing the cost of manufacture considerably. 

The cylinders are typically used as ejector cylinders in refuse vehicles where the cylinder positions the internal barrier against which the refuse is packed and with which the refuse is ejected. 

The modular design enables the cylinder to be configured with anything from 2 to 6 stages.  The final stroke is controlled by limiting the stroke of the inner rod without the addition of extra components. 

The design is very space efficient and typically a 5 stage cylinder would have a closed length of 1.2m and a stroke of up to 4.972m. 

This cylinder is taken by OEM in Europe and South America. 

Mounting of the cylinder can be changed to meet individual customer’s needs. The design utilises tubular shafts in steps of 20mm starting at 55mm. Inner rods can be 55, 75 or 95mm depending on the customers’ requirements.
